Sales Of Home Safes Climb Amid Financial Turmoil

About the same time Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy and the Dow Jones industrial average began plummeting last month, one of the nation's leading sellers of safes started to see an increase in sales.

Doug Brush from Sentry Safes in East Rochester says he has seen a major increase in sales- and is not surprised by this trend- "I think it's very understandable,” he said, because people then "get some peace of mind."Brush says safe sales have increased 20-40 percent in the last few weeks. The market for safes typically climbs during bad economic times.
